Camp Cender

Camp Cender is a 96-acre mixture of woodlands, prairie, and farmland located on the Sangamon River approximately three miles northeast of Fisher, Illinois. The grounds and facilities include the following

  • an archery range
  • ample space for tents and large gatherings
  • a house and barn
  • nature trails with stations and signs to explain the camp's many examples of active nature conservation in practice. For example, one station identifies specific tree plantings to prevent erosion.
  • a nature museum with life science posters and touchable mountings of native wildlife including fish, squirrels, birds, snakes, and other animals
  • a wealth of educational materials

West on 3300
North on 700E (at the Church)
Cross over small bridge
First Farm on East side of road (White farm house and barn)
Watch for Kicking Bear signs
